We appreciate their arrangement and we were ready for some good times. However, we felt constantly watched by two suspicious men. No one would ever want to put themselves in a risky situation while being stalked by two odd goons, so we decided to leave. It is a real pity as it could have been enjoyable.

TERRIBLE.
Vile, discourteous and insolent.
My boyfriend and I were there and they threw us out. Not to mention the overblown prices, way too high.
Out of all the places in Amsterdam, this is hands down the worst, not worth your time.
I'm giving it one star only because there's no option for zero.

My boyfriend and I went there to look around with a specific thing in mind. No sooner had we started looking than a rude guy asked "can I help you". We did not hear him properly and my boyfriend asked "sorry?" He then said again, in a very impolite manner, something about needing to make a sale or leave. We left right away. Negative, poor, unwelcoming atmosphere. STAY AWAY AT ALL TIMES

SKIP THIS PLACE. My partner and I decided to visit with the intention to buy a few things for our time in Amsterdam. The owner approached us, asking "can I assist you?" We had a clear idea of what we needed, so we politely declined his offer. To our surprise, he asked us to leave immediately. We were utterly taken aback and inquired about the reason. He responded, "because I am not able to assist you, so you should leave". I have never experienced such baffling treatment in a shop before. He began to usher us out of the shop, shouting that we were not allowed to drink inside the shop. As tourists, we only had a bottle of water with us, which we did not even open in the shop despite the 35-degree heat outside. This man clearly has some problems. We ended up purchasing our items from another place.
If you wish to be abruptly accosted by a strange, unhappy old man, this is the place for you.

I would strongly advise against shopping at William Higgins le Salon. The proprietor is incredibly impolite, and it is somewhat comforting to see that I am not the only one who has had this experience.

We were merely looking around and decided to snap a photo of an item to check with a friend if they were interested in it. The staff member, who also happens to be the owner, started saying "Hello" progressively louder until we understood that he was yelling at us from the other side of the shop. He informed us that taking pictures was not allowed, to which we promptly apologised. He then mumbled something about either making a purchase or leaving the store.

As we were exiting the shop, feeling uncomfortable, he remarked, "Well that's not going to pay the rent". I was itching to give him a piece of my mind, but my partner requested me to refrain as the owner appeared to be an extremely irate individual and there was a fear that the situation might worsen.

I would strongly urge you to refrain from patronising such a discourteous and gloomy older man. It is truly unfortunate because we have encountered many pleasant Dutch individuals on the first day of our vacation.
