This place is nothing but a tourist trap and a complete rip-off! What they promise you at the door is not what you get once you are inside. This has to be the biggest swindle in the whole of Amsterdam! Sadly, you might be reading this after you have already visited the bar. If you are reading this before going, I urge you not to waste your hard-earned money.

There were five of us who decided to visit the bar and we opted for the 65 euro per person deal. We were told this would include 4 drinks for an hour and a show from the girls inside, it sounded like fun. However, the moment you step in, you realize it is all a big lie! You are greeted by a dimly lit, tiny room with just 2 girls working. We were asked to move from the table we sat at, so we obliged and moved to another. Then a girl comes over and tells us the show is now going to cost an extra 200 euro! Apparently, the 65 euro entry fee, which was supposed to cover the entire experience, is now just the bosses cut and the show costs extra. We declined the additional show and immediately the girls, who were not the most attractive to begin with, turned into the most unpleasant people ever. They know they can get away with anything because they have their bouncers ready to throw you out. Needless to say, we decided to leave after just 2 of our drinks.

I strongly advise you to avoid this tourist trap. Four out of five from our group fell sick after drinking there, which is also quite suspicious. It was a terrible experience, with unappealing girls who had the worst attitudes. You will be treated like trash unless you are willing to shell out more money for things that were supposed to be included in the original price. This is an awful business practice and I doubt they will be around much longer, Amsterdam is not as bustling as it used to be.

We really ought to have perused the reviews before our visit.
We made the decision to opt for the 65€ deal for an hour but found the place was quite deserted and the girls seemed somewhat disinterested, so there was no form of entertainment unless we shelled out more for a show.
The x4 drinks were potent and there was a broad range to choose from.
Once the hour was up, we chose to head upstairs to the strip club which had a totally different atmosphere.
The music was superior, the girls were more attractive and seemed much happier. We had a lot more fun and thoroughly enjoyed the experience!!

Normally, I keep my personal haunts to myself, but I feel compelled to share my experience at Bananenbar Amsterdam, owing to the fantastic service I received from my dancer. She was a stunning ebony lady with gorgeous hair, full of life, and even gave me a farewell kiss when I left. I think it is worth sharing my fetish.

Here is what you need to know about the cost:
Entry fee is 40 euros, which includes 2 drinks (choice of wine, draft beer, or soda. The beer is quite good). You may need to pay more for additional drinks which also gives you more time in the club.
A lap dance (topless only) will cost you 35 euros, and you can touch. They also offer private VIP dances with full nudity. I did not try this, so I cannot comment.
Tips for the pole dance are around 5 euros (not mandatory but you would be a jerk to not pay for the service you receive)
You can get change at the front desk and there is an ATM for cash withdrawals (I suggest bringing some cash with you though), so do not worry about not having enough coins. (Full disclosure: I paid 36 because I was short of a 1 euro coin)
The staff may seem stern and serious, but they are actually quite friendly and even cracked a few jokes when I greeted them.
Upon entering, I was immediately welcomed by my dancer. We had a pleasant chat and she explained the pricing. Honestly, I enjoyed our interaction more than I have at other places.
Yes, it was unexpected to be approached like this, but it did not make me uncomfortable. Another dancer did approach me rather abruptly, but there was no awkwardness after I politely declined.
The lap dance may feel brief, but the connection you feel is intimate and wonderful, so it really does not matter. I found myself laughing a lot for some reason.
As for the pole dance, there are regular performances for everyone. After the dance, the dancer may come to you for tips, so do not expect everything to be free.
(Our dancer accepted US dollars, but do not assume this is the case for everyone).
The pole dance is quite short, but beautiful. (And you are REALLY close to the dancer)
In conclusion:
Is it possible to find cheaper lap dances elsewhere (or in the US)? Yes.
Can you find the same dancers elsewhere? No
Choose wisely. If you want to enjoy, then come. If you do not want to pay, then do not come.
Please respect the girls (and staff) and their rates.

If you are looking for adult entertainment, this is the place to go, especially because you probably won't find anything like this in the US. My boyfriend and I, being a woman, had a blast. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience.

Ignore the negative reviews. The show is genuinely entertaining and captivating. Some of the ladies are quite attractive. You can take pleasure in the show for an hour for 65 euros. The staff is courteous and focused on service. I had a wonderful time.
