I could not find any pleasure in my visit, as I was constantly shadowed by a group of creepy men in their 50s. They made no efforts to hide their actions.

In terms of cleanliness, 8 Downtown Athens is the most pristine gay cinema I have had the pleasure of visiting across 20 different countries, including the US, Asia, and Europe. I have made more than 12 visits to this place. Regrettably, this is where the positive aspects cease. The person who appears to be the manager or proprietor is notably discourteous and disrespectful, particularly towards the small number of transgender women, crossdressers, and similar individuals. It is blatantly obvious that they are not made to feel welcome. They receive a markedly different treatment. Therefore, if you are a transgender woman, I advise you not to visit! Straight men are also rejected at the entrance, as corroborated by other reviews.

The crowd is predominantly comprised of older men (above 50), and it is uncommon to spot anyone younger. Dismiss the notion that couples are regular patrons here. The cinema boasts an excellent infrastructure and is the most hygienic I have ever come across, but it is sadly run in a dreadful manner.

8 Downtown Athens has all the makings of a fantastic destination. During my three-week stay in Athens, I found myself visiting twice. The installations are absolutely first-rate, boasting everything from swings, glory holes, cabins, theaters, chains, and even a dedicated area for water sports. The cleanliness of the place is truly commendable (I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!). The toilets were always in pristine condition and well-supplied. They also have dispensers for paper towel and hand sanitizer scattered all over the place.

However, there was a glaring issue each time I visited, whether it was during the week or on the weekend - the lack of people. On a Saturday, the crowd was a mere 10-15 people (all significantly older), and on a Wednesday, it was even less, with only 5-10 people. If they can manage to attract more visitors, 8 Downtown Athens could truly be a wonderful place to explore.

Having recently visited, I had a fantastic time. The crowd tends to swell on days like Friday, Saturday, Sunday and the day before public holidays. Most of the negative reviews seem to be from a while ago. The venue has seen improvements and the prices are comparable to those in surrounding places.
