Berlin is full of wonderful, appealing shops that wish they could have a bar... The name of Bar Moechtegern says it all! We visited a couple of times during the Corona period and they were overly friendly, probably because business was not doing well. Now, with five more people in the shop, their arrogance is evident... I would not recommend it!!! There are plenty of other excellent alternatives.

The place is pretty compact and tight. The two ladies were making an effort, yet there was an odd vibe about them and the men behaved like they hadn't eaten in days. We were unable to explore the rooms by ourselves without a group of 4-5 men tailing us. It would have been bearable if there were some decent options, but it felt more like a retirement home complete with a caregiver. Regrettably, we are unable to endorse this place.

We have been here twice now. On our recent visit, there were slightly less single men engaging in deep existential chats, but we still had a great time. This spot is definitely for those who appreciate its unique atmosphere - a bit dark and grungy, just the way we like it. The only major downside is the air conditioning, which doesn't seem to work well. When the place fills up, it gets too hot right away. Despite this, it's a place that we enjoy and we keep coming back to it.
This place is not for everyone, only for those who understand what they are getting into.
