We visited Café Cléopatra tonight as a group of sightseers. The old, bold, white doorman was asking for tips with a poor attitude.
Even though we gave him the tip and told him that we would be ordering drinks inside, he wanted to charge us per person and said that 30 to 40 bucks is the usual rate in the area.
This is nonsense because the sign on the board clearly states that there is no entrance fee in both English and French. (Clearly this is not the case)
All we wanted was to have a good time, but this man spoiled our evening.
From our perspective, it is acceptable to tip the dancer or for the service we receive inside.
Lastly, he made fun of us in front of everyone.
(These were his exact words after we gave him a tip: Oh you do have money for drinks)
And he actually used his hands to force us out
Please feel free to visit if you want to be shouted at, ridiculed, and have someone ruin your night.

I have never encountered such impolite staff! The bartender flung money at my companion when she inquired about her change and then started to hurl offensive insults at our party. Attempted to speak with the security guard, but he told us to leave as though we were the ones being discourteous and shouting.

I used to enjoy coming to Café Cléopatra with my pals and even brought more people along. But then, I had an unpleasant experience with two of their bartenders. Now, I feel uncomfortable going there. I was not aware that they do not accept credit cards, which was the only form of payment I had on me. To purchase shots, I had to go around asking my friends for cash, which was quite a hassle. Not many people carry a lot of cash these days, so not accepting cards seems like a bad business decision.

I could not leave a tip because I did not have any cash left. This led to the two bartenders speaking ill of me right to my face. They even suggested that I ask my friends for money to tip them. I found this behavior to be quite unprofessional. If they start accepting cards and improve their attitude, they might receive more tips. They seemed to believe that by bossing me around, they could get a tip out of me. This is a poor business practice, not accepting cards and having rude employees.

I was shocked by this experience and have decided to never go there again.

Before I share my thoughts, I noticed many people grumbling about tipping the doorman to enter the club. This is a typical Montreal thing, not sure why, but it is. So, just accept it. Other city clubs will ask for a cover charge and a tip for the doorman. Here, there is no cover charge, just the tip. The beer here is the cheapest among all strip clubs in the city.

The bouncers are really friendly and perform their duties well. The girls are generally pretty attractive. Sometimes, though, there are lengthy gaps between girls on stage because there are not many girls and they are kept quite busy in the VIP. Also, they only do two stage shows, not three like most places.

Overall, it is a decent club with good girls.
